How do I add my references for my employer to contact?

Summary

When you have been requested to complete checks for your employer, they can ask you to provide information about your previous employers so they can start contacting them for references. 

The process is really simple. 

When you have been asked to complete references your portal will look like this:

Click on the reference check to complete the reference information. This will display the references you need to add to support the regulatory requirements for your new employer to hire you. 

 

In this section you will need to add the relevant years worth of employment history

You are required to submit a minimum of 2 references to start work for a new employer but sometimes these don't cover the years of references required by the employer. llama.id will inform you if you need to add new references. 

Follow this process to add a reference to llama.id:

  1. Click on 'add reference'
  2. Enter your referee information for a previous employer
  3. Click 'submit the reference'
  4. We will then validate the email address is valid

This means the reference is approved and can be sent to the referee once the process is completed and the employer is connected This means the reference email is invalid. There is no inbox and therefore llama.id cannot send reference chasers. 

 

  1. Continue to add the second reference in the same format
  2. Once you have submitted your second reference, as long as you have submitted enough references llama.id will let you submit them to your employer
  3. If you have not reached the relevant amount of years of referencing it will keep asking you to submit an additional reference until you have reached the required amount of references
  4. You can then submit these to your employer to review

In this section you will need to add additional mandatory references that have been requested. 

You may have been requested to complete additional mandatory references to support your hiring process for your new employer. All you need to do is complete the additional references.

Follow this process to add a reference to llama.id:

  1. Click on 'add reference'
  2. Enter your referee information for a previous employer
  3. Click 'submit the reference'
  4. This will then show that you have entered the information
  5. Complete this process with all the additional references
  6. And then submit them to your employer
