Verify your employees DBS application

Summary

When your employee has completed their DBS check you will get a notification to confirm. You now have to review the information to cross-reference against other data. If everything looks fine, you can then go into the verify process to send the application to the DBS service and start the checking process.

How to verify and submit the DBS application information to the disclosure service?

When you have submitted the employees DBS application and the application is now at status 2, you can now go and verify the DBS application and submit their DBS application to the disclosure service for checking. 

• You need to go to the employees profile
• Click on the witness section
• You will now see the option to verify the DBS application

• Click verify DBS app
• You will then need to go through the verification process
• Within the process you need to select a digital ID you have used to conduct the check

• DBS ID documents that have been verified in the application can be viewed underneath the verify process. These are what should be used in the verification process. 

• You will be present with the position type and workforce that you selected in the invite flow
• Add the name of the person who has witness this DBS application
• Confirm the declaration and submit
• The application will go to status 7 which means you have completed everything you need to as an employer
• The status 7 might take 3-5 minutes to process, so please wait 5 minutes and then refresh your screen
• You can view the latest status of the DBS application on the witness form

This will show that the DBS application has been submitted and the application will be on its way to the disclosure service for the checking process. 

• You will then be notified of every status
• Your employee will be notified of every status 
• You and your employee will be notified of the E number to track the DBS and apply for the DBSUpdate service.
